Our precious Huntie hit the floor this past weekend. She's been sleeping on Michael's top bunk for the past several months with no problem.
Friday night Huntie came into our room around 3:30 AM yelling how her face and hands hurt. She said she was just sleeping on the floor and woke up because her face and hands hurt SO BAD. So we went into the bathroom to check her out and she yelled her mouth was bleeding. Sure enough, her mouth was full of blood and her nose and forehead had dried blood on the them.
Looking inside her mouth I saw her gums were deeply cut and the inside of her lips were shredded. Her two new front teeth were seriously loose too. We called our doctor friend who, gratefully, was at work in the ER. He gave us some good advice and was willing to look at her. Kevin took her to the hospital and he and his dad gave her a blessing. The dentist checked her out in the morning and said we should be very careful with her loose teeth and bring her back for a recheck in a week.
(here sleeping again just after returning from the ER)
Her teeth are getting stronger and tighter, but the left tooth is still very loose. We keep praying she won't lose it. It still could die or fall out. We were especially concerned that she came to us with DRIED blood on her face and in her nose. That meant some time had passed since she stopped bleeding. We worried that she might have been knocked out by the fall. We're so grateful she woke up and came to us. We didn't even hear a thing!
(here not even a day and half later - yep, at her triathlon. She's still a little swollen, but feeling so much better - she's so tough)
Angels were watching over our Huntie. We're so grateful for your prayers and thoughts.
She is healing quickly and feeling great. She had a followup appt today with the dentist, just 4 days after her fall. The swelling is pretty much gone and her teeth are still loose, but getting tighter. We just have to keep waiting and praying.
