Update on Huntie's Teeth

Ok, it's a miracle. Her beautiful two front adult teeth are secure and strong in her mouth - after less than four weeks. Thank you for your faith and prayers. A miracle truely has happened in her little mouth. Seeing the dentist's face even after our follow-up visit provided us with little hope - luckily faith stepped in and she was greatly blessed!

Kid's Day with Donna

We spent a fun afternoon with Aunt Sandy, aka Donna, at the Kid's Day at the Houma Civic Center. The kids played in the balls, made tubes of "Sandy Candy," learned about safety, danced with Pinocchio, eat yummy treats and more.

Kevin Qualifies for Council Race

Kevin qualified for the race for Terrebonne Parish Council District 6 seat today. He invited his dad, grandpa and son to join him as he registered at the Clerk of Court office. He's still updating his website: www.kevinvoisin.com.

The press release sent to the paper:

KEVIN M. VOISIN QUALIFIES FOR TERREBONNE PARISH COUNCIL DISTRICT SIX RACE

July 9, 2008 - HOUMA, Louisiana – Kevin M. Voisin qualified for the Terrebonne Parish Council District Six race today at the Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Courts office. He was accompanied by his grandfather, former Police Jury President Ernie Voisin, his father, long time community leader Michael Voisin, and his five-year-old son Michael Voisin.

“I am really honored to have the chance to serve the people of Terrebonne Parish. I’m here with the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th generation of my family to live in the parish. I will stand for building a parish that grows to meet the needs and wants of the next eight generations.”

Voisin took a stand the first day of his official candidacy at a neighborhood meeting in Bayou Black about the new work release prisoner facility being erected on Savanne Road. Voisin expressed his belief that proper zoning would have allowed for valuable programs like this to move forward in a way that would not have surprised or upset local homeowners. “Terrebonne Parish is a beautiful place and there is space for everyone. As a community we have long outgrown our outdated policies of growing without proper zoning. I will stand for proper zoning in order to end surprises of this nature.”

Even before his official candidacy began, Voisin set up a website to keep his constituency updated and informed about where he stands on issues affecting the parish. Citizens can visit www.kevinvoisin.com to not only view video clips and read blog updates posted by Voisin, but also voice their own questions and concerns. The website is set up to receive donations to the Kevin Voisin for Council campaign as well. This site is an extension of Voisin’s stand that modern technology and 21st century infrastructure will bring a new day to Terrebonne Parish.

For more information about Kevin Voisin’s stand for Terrebonne Parish, please visit his website at www.kevinvoisin.com for continuing updates.

4 Days in the Car, 2 Days at the Beach - What did You Expect?

OK, we were in the car for two days on the way to North Carolina, at the beach for two days, then in the car for two days on the way back. You can get a little loopy in those situations. Car-fever is a very real thing.

Elle, on a little Dora-drug.

"My head touches the ceiling!"

We love Vaughn Park

Do you still love Vaughn Park baby brother Joseph? We sure do!! We stopped in Montogmery Alabama on our trip home to see my old romping grounds from the 7th grade. We saw our old house (3346 Dresden Drive), the church, the elementary school (Dannelly Elemenary), and our little Joseph's favorite park, Vaughn Park. We even stayed and played at the park for an hour - GREAT fun!

Emerald Isle Beach Day #3

Walking from the beach house to the beach, right across the street. So nice. Our Little Huntiemaid. Mason and Kevin catching some sweet waves. Body surfing was SO fun! Kevin and I surfed waves taller than us and then he and Mason swam out farther and surfed waves more than twice their height. Michael loved facing the waves too. Huntie and Elle, on the other hand, could pretty much do without the water.
