Rise and Shout the Cougars are out!

We got invited to a special brunch in the French Quarter with BYU alumni group. So fun! Kevin was serenaded by the jazz band when Huntie told them it was her daddy's birthday.


The weather relfected the sad sad showing New Orleans' Tulane Green Tide football team showed against the Cougars - 54 to 3!! We cheerfully wore rain ponchos to and from the Superdome.


Elle wasn't do keen on rising OR shouting.


BUT, Kevin and Huntie (just like her mommy) are diehard fans. I thought it was pretty poetic to paint my family's faces for the BYU game in New Orleans - a skill I learned as a face painter in the summertime to pay my way through BYU.



Huntie and Cosmo. Oooooo, it's just so magical!


Ok, this is so sad. Look at the Tulane side of the field. So sparce, it was such a weak showing.


Now look at the BYU side. We clearly whooped their hind ends in the fan support department. Looks like we brought our home field advantage with us!


Kevin showed Mike the highest seats in the Superdome - truely the nosebleeds. Look waaaaaay up there . . .


Then he, Huntie and Michael hiked the entire distance to the center top seats of section 610. Whoa!

Ellie Bellie was so tired and grumpy that she fell asleep during the game.



Huntie and I decided #51 on BYU's team was our favorite player. Can you see why?


Michael kept torpedoing into Uncle Greg, so Uncle Greg gave him a little what for with an upper hand diversion and a lower hand smack to the tummy.


Over and over again, Mike would torpedo into Greg. And over and over again, Greg would distract Mike with his right hand in the air and then slap him in the tummy with his left hand. It seriously took Michael a good 10 tries to firgure this trick out. I think he was enjoying the "game" so much, it took him a while to start dodging the slap. Lol.


It was so funny. Michael loved it.




WOOhOO! The Cougars came to New Orleans and played the Tulane Wave in the Superdome and WE got to see it! Kevin's sweet connections got us 15th row seats on the 40 yard line.

BYU has been looking great this season and just whooped up on Oklahoma, seated #3, last weekend 14 - 13! That win jumped BYU up 11 spots to rank Top 10 at #9. Very nice.

Our T-Baller

This was Michael's season end with the Rangers 2009. He consistently hit the ball into the outfield this season and we're pretty sure he understands the mitt goes on his LEFT hand, as he is a right-handed thrower. We really had a blast watching him improve over the season.

Knock 'Em Soccer

It was Voisin cousin day at the soccer fields today.

Michael and Nathaniel are both SHARKS! They won their game 8 to 4 today with Michael making the final goal! Go Michael! Nathaniel is a natural soccer player - even with no practicing under his belt, he knew just what to do!





Huntie, #5, represented the girls as a COUGAR and, although her team didn't win, she showed significant improvement from last week. She's learning so fast!


Dyami, #13, is a Houma TORNADO. The Tornadoes didn't come off victors this week either, but man can those boys hustle. It was such a fun game to watch.


The cousins were fantastic spectators too.


Dyami helped Elle pick flowers and reminded her to stay away from traffic - now that's a man ;). Good work Amy and Marcelo.

The Rangers are #1, just like Michael!

Here they are - the Rangers, Michael's first Tball team ever. Michael had great coaches and a super fun season. He's excited to play again, something I wasn't sure would be true when the season began. He felt very proud to have grammy, papa, Aunt Sally, Uncle Greg, Aunt Jenn and Scottie come see him play. Coleen and David we're diligent fans too. They even got to see Michael play catcher - a role he really loved. Kevin thinks it's because he was safe behind all the gear. Lol. Kevin was an all-star catcher growing up. Maybe it's in their blood.

The SECOND Game

Ok, this game was an improvement. Kevin's been working with Mike on all his Tball skills. He even stood with him outfield during the game tonight to reinforce the lessons. But poor kid, Michael was so confused by home. He kept running to the dugout straight from 3rd. Apparently, there was a sign above the dugout that said "HOME." LOL!! (for the "home team," of course) But when his coaches kept yelling to him to run home, he was sure they meant the dugout. After all - the sign! LOL. Anyway, I think he figured it out.

He even got pegged by the ball today. It took a good chunk of his pride, but I don't think he'll even get to show off a bruise tomorrow. All the same, he toughed it out for another inning.

Here's Michael rounding third, heading more towards the dugout than home plate. He sure knew where he was going! It's just that no one else did.

I'm #1!

Michael is #1 in t-ball, NO SERIOUSLY, his jersey number is 1. He came back from getting his uniform screaming, "I'm Number 1!" Go Rangers!

Michael turning for home on his clean-up hit! Last in the batting order means he gets a home run trot every time!

His coach taught him EXACTLY where to drop the bat. Since he forgot to drop the bat when he finished batting, he returned after starting to run to put the bat EXACTLY where it was supposed to go. Then off he went. Again.

Man, Michael looks so much like little Kevin here. Don't you agree ma?
